Minimalist Monday: Things that make me smile : )

Getting ready for the program

Hi Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing weekend πŸ™‚

All of us aspiring Minimalists are on the lookout to replace things and objects with people and experiences. Last week I was inspired after reading a post by Joanna at Every Week Is Green about 100 happy days. Check her site out if you want to read more about it. The basic concept is that you take a picture of things that make you happy every day for 100 days. You may post the pics on blogs and social media to share or keep them to yourself.I have to admit I may not get a pic everyday , in fact, I may be good to a couple a week. Even so, I love the concept. Life can deal us all kinds of blows but when we look around us there is always something of beauty and meaning to make us smile.

My pic to start out the week is the stage at my school right before my second and third grade program. I can’t post pics of my students performing but this photo of the stage represents how much I love working with the kids, and how proud I am of them. You should see them all dressed up and excited to see their family in the audience ready to watch them. perform. I know that most of us do not have many vivid memories of our elementary school years. Even so, I always hope that the students have a good time working on the program and that I help them to create happy memories of being in elementary school.

The program was entitled My, Town, My World and we also had performances by the band and choir. It was a great evening. The Art work was supervised by Mr. Steve, our art teacher. The Art work added a nice touch to the performance. The evening definitely made my smile. πŸ™‚

I will be posting my pics on my Facebook page once or twice a week, so if you are interested in seeing what makes me smile feel free to stop by the page and check it out from time to time.

What makes you smile? I look forward to seeing anything you choose to share!

Until next time,

Laura
