It is quite possible that turning 50 has been the best thing to happen to me in quite a long time. I was quite surprised to find that instead of having the usual sense of dread that comes with the passing of youth, I was excited to find what this phase of life may bring.

The past seven months have been filled with anticipation and excitement. I know that this life and this body are not going to go on forever and the changes are going to come quicker each passing day. Because of this awareness,  I have a new found passion to live life to the fullest. I don’t need big, grand adventures every day. My goals for the next nine years are to make the most of every moment, the big ones as well as the small ones; to really appreciate everyone and everything in my life; and to always count my blessings no matter what the day brings.
